Why We Give
Why Give? Did you know the Bible says more about giving than heaven, prayer, or even faith? Here’s just a sample:
Faithful giving draws me closer to God. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
Faithful giving is the key to a full life. Command them to do good, to be rich in
good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up
treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may
take hold of life that is truly life.” 1 Timothy 6:18-
Faithful giving blesses me in return. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it…” Malachi 3:10
Faithful giving reminds me that everything belongs to God. “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” Deuteronomy 8:18
Faithful giving shows spiritual maturity. “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” Matthew 6:24
